Moving away from the more expansive lakeside cabin designs that one can find across the gorgeous Norwegian landscape this minimal and modern cabin is draped in pinewood and glass.
€ 12000 of the total budget were used to improve the energy-efficiency insulation and structural integrity of the old house while € 6000 went towards giving the interior a contemporary transformation.
A glass façade is the real show stopper at this modern retreat as it opens up the interior completely to the view outside. You are surrounded by nature completely and it is changing sunlight through the day and the passage of seasons that provide a dynamic colorful and hypnotic backdrop that takes you back into nature’s lap.
Overlooking the bustling bay area in the distance the lovely home has a striking skillion roof and a large open plan living area with helical stairs on opposite ends. Designed by Vaughn McQuarrie a wall of glass connects the living are of the home on the lower level and the bedroom and home office on the mezzanine level with the view outside.
