On the lower level it is the double-height living area that steals the show with kitchen and dining on one side and an elegant sitting area on the other. Litecrete precast concrete panels and wooden ceiling and partitions offer ample textural contrast in a modern home that is both cheerful and polished.
With the living area also embracing the new kitchen dining space and the home office next to it each room flows into the next and eventually merge with the sweeping wooden deck and porch outside.
Spatially the three different structures of the house contain three specialized areas with the edifice in the foreground housing the living area kitchen and other public spaces. One of the two rear structures hosts the master bedroom suite with the other containing the kids’ bedroom. An undulating roofscape puts the final touches on a truly mesmerizing lakeside home.
The living area is like an open pavilion with the rear deck pool area and the view beyond becoming a part of the experience at the lake house. The double height living area is draped in a neutral color palette and natural stone finishes ensure that the focus remains firmly on the scenery outdoors.
Reinforced concrete structural steel and a prefabricated system of insulated panels ensure that the temperature inside is carefully controlled even as the clerestory windows usher in a flood of natural light.
Reuse of materials was an important part of the new house with paneled wood doors doorknobs and hardware from the old interior being reused fully. Pops of Benjamin Moore’s Melon Popsicle fuchsia pastel pinks and green enliven different rooms of the house while curated art work unique collectibles and a gorgeous living room diorama provide playful and exquisite finishing touches on a transformation that leaves you spellbound!
